Description
Cholesterol NF is a white odourless powder extracted from wool grease. It is a minimum purity of 95% that meets the current USP Pharmacopoeia requirements. Primarily used as the precursor for the production of Vitamin D3 as well as for the pharmaceutical manufacture of Cholesteryl Esters and Steroid Hormones.
Applications
Used as an O/W or W/O emulsifying agent in lotions and creams due to excellent emulsifying and stabilizing properties.
Basic material for the synthesis of Vitamin D3.
Solubility
Soluble in Acetic Acid, Acetone, Alcohol, Benzene, Chloroform, Dioxane, Ether, Ethyl Acetate, Hexane, Pyridine, Toluene and Vegetable Oils. Insoluble in Water.
Storage
Store in sealed containers under normal cool, dry and well ventilated warehouse.
